We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
When you buy from us or open an account: name, business name, ABN, billing and delivery addresses, email, phone, and order history. Payment card details are handled by our payment providers — we do not see or store full card numbers.
When you contact us: Whatever you choose to tell us, including details of your application, equipment and site.
When you use the site: IP address, browser and device information, pages viewed, and referring site. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies.
Why we collect it
- To process, pack, deliver and invoice your orders
- To quote, advise on product selection, and handle repairs and warranty claims
- To operate trade accounts, including credit assessment where you apply for terms
- To respond when you contact us
- To send marketing where you have asked for it, or where it is permitted and you can opt out
- To meet our legal, tax and record-keeping obligations
We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
- Shopify, which hosts this store and processes orders
- Payment providers, to take payment securely
- Freight carriers, to deliver your order
- Manufacturers and repairers, where a warranty claim requires it
- Credit reporting bodies, only where you apply for a credit account and consent separately
- Professional advisers and authorities, where required by law
Some of these providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Marketing
We only send marketing to people who have asked for it or who we are permitted to contact under the Spam Act 2003. Every message has an unsubscribe link and we act on it promptly. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop transactional messages about an order you have placed.
Cookies
This site uses cookies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, but parts of the site — the cart in particular — will stop working properly.
How long we keep it
As long as needed for the purpose it was collected, and then as long as required by law. Business and tax records are generally retained for 7 years, as per the ATO requirements.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. Our business operates under a certified information security management system (ISO 27001). No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Accessing or correcting your information
You may ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it. Contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time and will tell you if we need to verify your identity first. There is normally no charge.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, contact us at sales@air-allied.com.au or 07 3272 7999. We will acknowledge your complaint and respond within a reasonable time.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.
